Legendary Windsurfing Magazine

windsurfing magazine premiere

Windsurfing magazine founder, Terry Snow:
"I don't remember why or how we got involved in board testing, but I believe we were the first to do it."

There once was a time when there were no magazines about windsurfing. The first magazine of the sport came from the most unlikely place—a mostly flat water state-Florida. Originally called WindRider, it was founded by Terry Snow in 1981, and was a singular phenomenon on the planet.

Through the years, many others have come onto the scene. Some even have grown bigger than Windsurfing. The German "surf Magazin" hosts the largest readership.

"Our Florida location was a bit of a disadvantage, but the flipside of it was if you were in Hawaii all the time – you ended up going in this high-performance route and you weren't really speaking to the mass audience."
-founder Terry Snow

Windsurfing also owns the UKs #1 windsurfing periodical, Windsurf. It and other publishers now have an online presence, including the unique Boardseekers.com, that is exclusively online.

Amidst many good magazines and awash in a world of information, Windsurfing Magazine still delivers the same great information that made it what it is today—one of the world's leading magazines in the sport.

"Our competitors were much more of a newsstand companies and we were more a subscription company." -founder Terry Snow
